Links to other sites
This website contains links to other websites. Praemium is not responsible for the content and privacy practices of other websites.
Phishing activity and website cloning
Financial scams are growing more sophisticated every year. Website cloning is a method where cyber criminals create nearly identical websites to mirror original ones out of malicious motives. The branding devices and content may be identical to a legitimate website. You may receive an email with a link to the “cloned” website. Ensure the URL of the site matches the name of the company and if in doubt contact Praemium directly to verify. Praemium will never ask to you provide financial or sensitive details via email. Communications to investors will be done via the adviser or the Investor Portal.
Password Protection
We encourage the use of strong, unique passwords across all platforms, including mobile devices and web browsers. We employ secure encryption methods to protect your login credentials and do not store plain-text passwords.
We recommend that you enable two-factor authentication (2FA) which is a two-step verification process, i.e. a password and a text code.
A password should have a minimum of eight characters, be as meaningless as possible and use uppercase letters, lowercase letters, special characters and numbers. You could use a Password Manager to generate a strong complex password.
Do not give out your password to anyone. Be wary of unsolicited calls or emails requesting personal information or card numbers. No one from Praemium should ask you to disclose your password.
Notify Praemium immediately if you become aware or suspect that your password has become known or used by someone else.
Never change security details such as your password in a public place or on a public computer.
Internet security
Do not leave your computer unattended if you are still logged on.
Always log out from your Praemium account when you have finished and close the browser.
Use only computers that have current anti-virus software installed.
Seek professional advice if you are unsure of any of the above.
Do not open email attachments from unknown sources.
Email is one of the prime causes of malicious viruses. Regardless of how enticing the 'subject' or attachment may look, be cautious. Any unexpected email, especially those with attachments (from someone you may or may not know), could contain a virus and may have been sent without that person's knowledge from an infected computer. Should you receive an email of this kind and you are doubtful of its legitimacy, delete it.
